Please don't have a heart attack--I know two posts in one week is unheard of in these here parts. On a 1920s jazz kick this week... here's a great CD of terrific, atmospheric jazz pieces by the great trumpeter Cladys "Jabbo" Smith, featuring such supporting greats as "Banjo" Ikey Robinson, pianist Alex Hill and bassist Alvis Hayes.
Complete liner notes are included... and it's ripped @ 320 too! Lucky you!
You can pick up the Jab-tastic jazz HeRe!

Thanks a bunch for this, Frank. I am a huge fan of twenties and thirties jazz. I have the Tiny Parham but will pick this one up. Also thank you for scanning the liner notes. I know it is extra effort but it is very appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI did look at your Parham review and thought it was great.
Anything else that you have to share on Timeless or Retrieval would be very appreciated.
